Smoker & Co. is a successful, busy CPA firm with offices located in Lancaster and Berks County. We have a strong, established client base and we are looking for the best professionals to join our team in providing premium service to our clients.


We are looking for an experienced individual to manage our client payroll department. This leader will be responsible for handling review of all payroll, notices, quarterlies, year end, WC & UC audits, etc.

He or she will oversee the payroll team to ensure work is being completed efficiently and accurately. During the busier quarters this position will require more than the typical 40 hour work week.


  • Superior understanding of all technical areas relating to payroll, payroll quarterly taxes, financial statements, and income tax.
  • Experience managing the payroll process from start to finish 
  • Knowledge of all technical areas relating to PA Unemployment and Workers Compensation law.
  • Experience coordinating payroll audits, compiling information, meeting with auditors, and obtaining the most positive results for our clients.
  • Experience applying the tax laws to benefit our clients, minimizing their tax obligations to the relevant government agencies and, at all times, remaining within the parameters of the relevant tax laws, while aggressively representing our clients.
  • Proven track record of managing personnel, resulting in accurate preparation and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Experience using multiple versions of QuickBooks
  • Experience using ADP is a PLUS

Compensation is dependent on relevant experience ... competitive salary and bonus plan
